The fourth and last budget of the Modi Government is out today. With many good thing containing the budget I am raising few questions worth paying attention:
1. Tax slab is not changed. May public ask why? Income tax has provision to do the indexing of the value based on which income tax is charged eg. you buy a plot in year 2000 for 10 lakhs and if sale it in 2017 then tax slab is calculated as per index to take care of inflation. In the similar manner why tax slab is not changed every two years based on the inflation. Why public after voting once be ransom to the politician wish and wisdom. It should be taken care automatically ever two years.
2.Modi ji after taking over as PM begin talk to create Rail University. In 2016 Budget it was included in the Railway Budget presented by MR Suresh Prabhu. Now the Govt. should inform the progress made in it. Modi ji also said after four years I will give performance report. Today again it has been announced to put Railway University . Let the public know the status.
This is also important because lot of man power is required for implementing Rs.1,46,000 Lakh projects. How with out manpower these project will be executed with out skilled man power.

3. Today Government announced to merge Govt. owned General Insurance companies and make mega company. This is understood this is being done to make the large organization to de-invest and create wealth for the Government.
Similar plan was given in 2017 budget to merge public sector banks and create 5 banks only. May we ask what happen to that plan. Under this scheme Corporation bank was to be merged in Punjab National Bank. The only work done so far is the use of new banking software is bought by Corporation bank. Now if you ask for any information which is 6-8 months old the simple reply will be given software is changed and new software is yet not compatible with old one so information will take 15-40 days? So many governance issues are left to be handled by the public? With out proposer training of manpower and backend preparation this all is creating chaos for public. I am afraid this new merger will also end up similar . Various schemes merger will take time. Lot of governance issues will also crop up. It is therefore advised to implement it after full preparation.
